Women Talking- Film Screening and Panel Discussion

March 31 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$5

ArtsAltoona will host a screening of the recent film “Women Talking” on Friday, March 31st, in The Sanctuary at the ArtsAltoona Center. Doors open at 6:30, and the movie will start at 7pm, with a panel discussion to follow.
Inspired by the true story of the Manitoba Colony of Mennonites in Bolivia, “Women Talking” is rated PG-13 for sexual assault, mature thematic content, bloody images, and some strong language. Based on the Miriam Toews novel by the same name, the film chronicles the lives of the women in this isolated South American community who grapple with their faith, forgiveness, and women’s rights.
Admission and popcorn are free, however a $5 donation is suggested. Water, soda, and snacks will be sold, with adult beverages available by donation for those 21+ with ID.
ArtsAltoona is a nonprofit organization with a mission to connect people to the arts to strengthen our communities. If you are interested in sponsoring this or other events, please contact sdilling@artsaltoona.org.
