Spoken Word Night

February 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Erin Murphy is the author or editor of thirteen books, including two new collections of poetry forthcoming in 2022: Human Resources and Taxonomies. She is a recipient of the WISE Women Tribute Award in Arts & Letters and was inducted into the Blair County Arts Hall of Fame in 2015. She is Professor of English at Penn State Altoona, where she has received the Athleen J. Stere Teaching Award, the Grace D. Long Faculty Excellence Award, and the university-wide Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching. Poet Lee Upton says, “Erin Murphy is a sly, funny, clear-eyed poet whose poems close with the satisfying ringing sound of deft ironies sliding into place. She has the courage of her idiosyncrasies, a pitch-perfect ear, and the confidence to probe the more tender hypocrisies of our culture.”
