Ready, set, SHOOT! SAMA Altoona will host two photography camps to kick off the upcoming Donald M. Robinson Photography Biennial exhibition. The camps, one for adults and one for teens, will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about the art of photography and develop their skills under the guidance of an experience instructor, who has worked for Samsung, the Edelman Agency, and various universities. During the adult photography camp on May 6-7, recommended for ages 19 and up, students will learn about digital and film photography throughout these two days. Students will learn on their own devices, whether that be cell phones, DSLR cameras, or traditional 35mm film cameras. During the youth photography camp on May 20-21, recommended for ages 13-18, students will learn the varieties of photography mediums and methods, and will be taught in instant film photography, solar film, and cell phone photography. Discuss and explore content creation for brands and dive into other marketable skills for businesses. Class sizes will be limited. Please note that no meals will be provided, and students are expected to bring their own cameras. All additional equipment will be provided. If students do not have a camera and wish to request support, please contact altoona@sama-art.org.
