January 23 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, repeating until February 6, 2021

Learn about exposure, composition, and the history of photography in this introductory course! Registration is required and will close January 8th. This course costs $40, and you can register at www.sama-art.org/events-list. This course will take place over Zoom, and students will receive the link to class upon registration.
This one-month course is taught by former photography professor and current SAMA Altoona site coordinator – Hannah Harley. This course will be entirely online and will focus on the basics of the camera and light (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) and the history of photography. Attendees can expect four classes, two one on one meetings with the instructor, and one group critique with fellow photographers. This course compliments the current exhibition at SAMA Altoona – The Implications of the Camera, which explores the history of photography, the future of the medium, and current experimentations.
The classes will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays – January 16th, January 23rd, and January 30th, and February 6th. Students who are unable to attend the class on Saturday can access the recording afterwards. One-on-one meetings will be organized with the attendee and the instructor. The group critique and final discussion will occur on February 13th.
