‘Experience the Aurora’ is our NEW show at Hollidaysburg Planetarium.
Over seven months in the Arctic Circle, camera crews captured timelapse images of the Aurora Borealis with high resolution digital SLR cameras outfitted with fisheye lenses. The results are spectacular. For the first time the aurora has been captured as it was meant to be experienced, as a display that covers the entire sky. How and why the auroras are seen is also explained in this show.
‘Cosmic Christmas’ pairs popular holiday songs with a digital light show set to stunning visuals on the planetarium dome featuring hits from Bing Crosby, Paul McCartney, Maria Carey and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Warning: This show is not for you if flashing lights and bold moving patterns trigger Photosensitive Epilepsy (PSE).
This show’s license expires this month and will not be show again = LAST CHANCE!
‘The Star of Bethlehem’ tells the traditional story of the Christmas Star using possible astronomical events to determine the actual year and time of year of the birth. Travel back in time to Bethlehem to investigate the question about the star that guided the Wise Men.
