42nd Street

The AAHS Performing Arts Club will present the classic song and dance musical, 42nd Street on April 13-15, 2023 at 7pm in the AAHS Auditorium. 42nd Street celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the magic of show biz with wit, humor and pizzazz. At the height of the Great Depression, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown, PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including “You’re Getting To Be A Habit With Me,” “Dames,” “We’re In the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Forty-Second Street.”
With almost 50 students onstage, in addition to some special teacher cameos, an all-star student pit orchestra and just as many students involved backstage, designing and making all of our sets, props, and costumes, this show will sweep you off your feet and back into the golden age of Broadway!

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults (plus online processing fees). Tickets are reserved seating and will be available in advance in the AAHS Student Store, in the AAHS Auditorium Ticket Booth on April 10-12 from 3-4pm, and at the door 45 minutes prior to each performance.
